We will be having an informational meeting for anyone interested on Sunday, January 21 at 11:45 a.m. in the Community Room.

What exactly will you be doing in Santiago?

A lot of what we do will be determined by the make up of our team. We will talk with G.O. about the gifts and abilities of the people on our trip, and they will determine what will be best. There may be opportunities for us to run a VBS, work on construction projects, and serve at nutrition centers around the city. We have a partnership with The Central Church of Santiago. Through our mission partners Isaias and Lenae Gabriel, we will be working to best meet the needs of the people they minister to.

Please tell me about the application/interview process?

Each person who desires to go on this trip will need to fill out an online application, and will need to have a face-to-face interview with Matt McClane. A major reason for this process is that we are limiting this trip to a specific number of people. Also, unlike other events that we have done, this is a very delicate type of trip. This trip will present scenarios that are different from anything a lot of people have experienced before, and it may not be the best trip for them to attend.  Because of that, we feel it is important to have an application and interview process for anyone who is interested in going on this trip.

We do not want to discourage anyone from applying because they are concerned about the application/interview process. Applications are due by January 29. The next week we will set up interviews that will take place throughout the week. Once the team is constructed, the students will be notified and they can move forward in the process. This will be a process that is clearly evaluated and overwhelmingly prayed over.
